One of Marie Antoinette's favorite places in Versailles was her garden. Not the palace garden, but her little village. My family and I walked through the gardens to her Petit Trianon. We found a little cafe down one of the path ways.

We stood by this bird for ages waiting for him to show us his peacock feathers...he never did...

The grandeur and splendor of this queens apartment is what I hope my future home will be like... I once had a dream I was Marie Antoinette and i was awoken by my court every morning in the 'Versailles way'. To walk around the palace and her room was like walking into one of my dreams. I felt the clocks had turned back time and I walked around trying to imagine myself as an socialite, an onlooker at the Versailles court. Looking back that day was simply perfect. To see a lost world in so much detail was something I will always treasure.

DAY 2

Our first full day in France and I wanted to go to Versailles and see the Palace. And so we set the alarms, got up at the crack of dawn and took the hour and a half journey there. My parents and sister had no idea of what this Palace was and why it had such an attraction and so they were completely taken aback by the whole grandeur of the place. At the end of the day they were glad I chose to go there and were completely in awe of the place, we all were. 

I walked around the ballroom completely amazed. I had watched the film read the book, googled her endlessly and now I was finally in the world of Marie Antoinette. I pretended I was her first arriving from Austria to view my new home, thinking what it was like for her. I looked at what they used in the film, telling my mum cool facts about the palace and its most famous queen...
